Transplanting Basics - Hands-On Workshop

  • Cultivate The City H Street Farm 910 Bladensburg Road Northeast Washington, DC, 20002 United States (map)

As the weather is getting increasingly warmer and the days are getting longer many plants are starting to outgrow their containers. Transplanting is a gratifying garden task, but how do you know that you are doing it right? This hour-long course will cover different methods for transplanting your prized plants. Including how to determine when it is time to transplant, how to condition your soil, and how much space your plant will need to grow in their new home.

Transplanting Basics will be held at Cultivate the City’s scenic H Street Farm and led by Farm Manager Dan Weisshaar. Dan will walk you through the step-by-step process of transplanting several varieties of edible and ornamental plants - cilantro, basil, tomatoes, peppers, squash, strawberries and flowers.
